Other Projects

I found a free pattern for a yoga bag and made one as
a fathers day gift for my father-in-law.

It went together super easy and was a fun project to make.
I've also been doing a little crocheting at night while watching TV

this is a simple little throw I've been working on.
I've never used variegated yarn before so I decided to give it a try
with a simple v stitch. I don't hate it, but don't think I will use
 variegated any more.
And
I thought I'd show you my hook case I made to keep my crochet hooks
all nice and tidy.
I added a little slot on the outside to hold my scissors close and
easy to get to while crocheting.
Don't look too close at my Velcro - haha
I can NEVER get my stitches to look nice when sewing Velcro so
I have just given up.
Any tips??

I love my crochet case.
It makes me happy every time I pick it up.
As a bonus I don't have to open it every time I
continue working on my project, my needle, scissors, and hook
are all on the outside of the case waiting to be used.
(I just tuck my hook into the strap on the outside of the case, you
can see a peek of it in the first picture - its orange)
I also have another blanket I'm working on for my grand-daughter.
I'll share that one later.

I hope you are having  a fun day!

Penguin Cheer - Last Block

Well I have finished my very last block of the Penguin Cheer Quilt
Block 13
These blocks were so much fun to make and I'm looking forward
to having this quilt finished for Christmas this year.

I am so happy with the way this is turning out.
I think it will be even cuter once I get the sashing attached.

I hope you are having a fun day!

he's just so cute!
and block 12

this quilt is going to be so cute! I can hardly wait to finish it...
just one block left and then I get to start making my sashing.

I hope you are having a fun day!

Penguin Cheer Block 10 and something funny

well I finally got around to doing block 10

And here he is.
I do like all of the blocks but when I looked at the pattern for
this block I couldn't figure out what was on top of the penguin.
yes I guess I'm slow but I had to read the pattern before I knew he
was wearing a sweater.
So now for the really funny part, when I finished this block I was
curious to know if I was the only slow one, so I called Mr. Y over
and asked what he thought of the block.....well he said it was very nice.
I asked - do you know what the red part is.....yes he said. Well...what
is it??? pause then he said It is a comb. hahaha! It does look like
a comb.

and a look at them together.
I do like my cute fat penguin carrying his comb in his beak.

I hope you are having a fun day doing the things you like to do.

Penguin Cheer Blocks 7 and 8

Hello there, it's ME, block 7 from the penguin cheer quilt!!
haha!

and here is block 8
I wasn't thinking when I made the package orange, it blends with the feet too
much so I had to outline the feet with black thread and it helped a little.
It would have been so much cuter if I would have made it with the red and white
polka dot fabric, but oh well---it's cute enough.

and here are the 8 of them I have finished so far.
I won't be sewing any tomorrow.
I am going over to Pensacola to the biggest fabric shop I
have ever been to - A&E.
I really don't need any more fabric but I have to go see what's new
that I might really have to have. (giggle)
(I really do need two fabrics for another quilt I'm making for a
birthday gift.)

I hope you are doing something fun this weekend!

Penguin Cheer Block 6

Here is block 6 of the quilt along.
I was tempted to add a little red heart between the two
penguins (just under the berry) but decided against it.
and the first six all together

Now I'm putting my bathing suit on and heading out to the beach
with my kindle to relax and read. I hope I don't keep thinking about
block 7 while I'm out there. haha!

I hope you are having a good day doing the things you love to do.

Penguin Cheer Bock 5

Well here is block 5 from the Penguin Cheer Quilt Along.
Another block that was fun and fast to put together.

And the first five blocks.
Each time I put a block together it becomes my favorite.
I'm curious to see which block becomes my favorite when the
quilt is finished.

I hope you are having a wonderful day
doing something you like to do!
