More Blocks And Pictures of my Cottage

These blocks are so much fun to sew
Block 3

Block 4

Block 5

and a group photo

and since I spent about two weeks cleaning my sewing room I thought I would show
some pictures.
this is where I sit and sew

and this area is for my friends/family

my new cutting table.
It isn't finished yet, it needs a bigger top (soon)
I saw this table
and loved it so I made one for myself.
It was so easy to put together.
I love it - so much storage area and a just the right height for me

and back here is where Miss Millie lives
(I took these pictures while Madison was finishing her quilt)

and it's so sad to say that
with such a nice sewing room like this
I do most of my quilt sewing at the beach in my living room.
I just have more time to sew here.
There I have lots of family to spend time with, a
house to "try" to keep clean
and way too much to try to keep up with.

Metro Medallion QAL

I'm so excited, I finally started my Medallion blocks. This is my first time for curved seams. I've watched so many shows with thousands of pins on those scary seams. Well, thanks to Jenny's good directions and video's, my blocks went together without any pin's and were sooooo easy!!!
My first one
and my second one
I'm no longer a scaredy cat - haha!

Want to play along?

It felt so good to finally sit at the sewing machine and do some sewing!!
It was fun sewing this quilt top.

While I'm at the beach I have to squeeze into this small area to do my pressing
but at least I have a spot to use
(How do you like my cat tree on the left, my kitty loves it)

Do you get quilty?
if you look on the last page
at the top right quilt

IT'S MY QUILT!!
I was so excited when Mary Fons emailed me and asked if she could
use one of my quilts she found on pinterest.
It is in this months magazine.
I was a little disappointed that my name wasn't printed,
but at least it says Yellowbird Quilting Cottage -
that's me too. (Big Smile)

I'm still sewing, so I'll have more to show you soon.

Disney Quilt

Things have been so crazy busy around here. I haven't been able to sew in so long.
My grand-daughter wanted to make a quilt so I had some fun with her!
Last time she was at the beach with us, we made a trip to the quilt
shop to look for fabric for her. She wanted to make a Disney quilt.
(while in the shop she also found fabric for her next quilt too lol)
I didn't have time to take pictures of her sewing her top.
(she was moving along so fast)
Here she is quilting her top. She's 12 and this
is her 3rd quilt, but first time quilting one.
She just jumped in without any practice and I think she
did pretty good!
It was so much fun to sew with her.
I did all the rotary cutting,
all the pressing and loaded her quilt for quilting.
I also advanced the quilt and set her up for her next row.
I told her on the next quilt she will do the pressing.
I'm kind of nerves to let her use the rotary cutter though,
am I being too protective?

She is very happy with her finished quilt and I am so proud!!
She did a wonderful job.
It was four days from start to finish on this
double size quilt and so much fun to make!!

She wanted to use fleece on the back
A close up

When she finished her first question was - "When can we
start the next one?".

I hope you have a fun week-end!!!

Until later - Carol
